Life Motto: “Service Above Self”

Why do I do what I do? My “Why” comes from my passion for serving clients so they have peace of mind about their financial world.

Being a Certified Financial Planner™practitioner means I have the training and experience to create a customized strategy with each client. No two situations are the same except that, by acting proactively instead of reactively, my clients will be better positioned for financial success. Open, honest conversation and goal setting helps me clearly understand what my clients want to accomplish and allows me to prepare appropriate, objective planning options that are right for them.

Whether I'm helping someone craft the right buy-sell planning strategy for their business, building an investment portfolio that helps manage their tax exposure and seeks greater performance, or helping a family find term life and disability income protection to avoid economic disaster, I love helping clients strive for success.

I’ve been happily married to the love of my life Tammy for 18 years now! Our high school and middle schoolers, Trey, Isaac and Allie, always keep us on the go and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Tammy and I met at N.C. State, and as alumni, we enjoy rooting for the Wolfpack every chance we get. With life as busy as it is, being intentional about family time is important and we like to get away to the beach, visit a new brewery or just make time for a quiet date night as often as we can.

Gastonia, NC is home and I love being part of my community. I serve as an elder at First ARP Church, help lead our growing youth ministry where my kids are active and in my small Bible group. I’m the immediate past-president of the Rotary Club of Gastonia where we just celebrated our 100th anniversary and I serve on the boards of the Schiele Museum of Natural History as well as the United Way of Gaston County.

I love being active and am deeply involved in the local F3 men’s workout group where I regularly participate in and lead many of the workouts around Gaston County. Running isn’t for everybody, but I’ve been logging miles for over 12 years. Along with dozens of half marathons I’ve run, long distance team relay races like the Bourbon Chase and the Palmetto 200 are a ton of fun too. A long-term goal is to run a race in every state and so far I’ve checked off 13 of them.

Deep relationships and the joy that comes from them is a big reason for the work I do and I can’t wait to meet the many new families I’ll have a positive impact with for years to come.
